It is never the audiences fault if they don´t get you. Have you ever created something and in your head and it was all beautiful, you could see it in front of your eyes, you knew how it would feel , you would hear the applause ..and when you put it out there it was just not quite right ?To create something truly outstanding, something that really changes and inspires the person watching your art takes a lot of work. It takes a refined skill of analyzing your work, it takes the ability to step away from what you made and look at it with open eyes. It takes the ability to don´t over identify with your art.
“We do not over identify with our jobs. We may take pride in our work, we may stay late and come in on weekends, but we recognize that we are not our job descriptions. The amateur, on the other hand over-identifies with his avocation, his artistic aspiration. He defines himself by it. He is a musician, a painter, a playwright. Resistance loves this. Resistance loves this. Resistance knows that the amateur composer will never write his symphony because he is overly invested in it´s success and over-terrified of it´s failure. The amateur takes it so seriously it paralyzes him.”
